Unsinkable Molly Brown......

Today is my 51st birthday.I can finally say the 50 word. It was hard for me to turn 50 last year but I have discovered a wonderful thing this year about getting older. No it was not the aches and pains that come .It was not the blind eyes and constant looking for some glasses to be able to see the magazine, computer or the person in front of me talking. I discovered how much fun all the other women who are 50 something are having! WE are ladies who are still loving life and learning all kinds of new things every day! I have learned to blog this year -who would have believed I could do this wonderful , fun thing. And I have discovered friends and kindred spirits all over the world. I have time to stop and smell the flowers in my back yard now. I have time for long walks with my dog friend Bella. I have -TIME -that my whole life I have not had. I have gotten reacquainted with myself. The girl I lost along the way through the day to day task of taking care of my family. And now I am going to be a grandmother - wow that is worth turning 50 something.

For 20 years I shared a name with a very famous person -Molly Brown- I always loved her story and the way she never gave up. She has been my hero my whole life. I can sing every song from the Movie by now and seriously think I could survive the Titanic too!! Friends that have known me my whole life call me still -Molly B - unsinkable-Molly Brown. So it was only natural for me to name my blog -Molly B.

Most of us have been through things in life that would make a person just give up - like we all do at times.I always think back on a scene where Molly says "I ain't down yet" I think that has been my theme my whole life-not to give up. If you have not ever seen "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" watch it for me and sing and dance with every scene. Isn't that how life should be just singing and dancing through it!!

Happy Birthday Me - I ain't down yet....

An American Soldier.....

Sgt.Mack Brown served in WWII on a Hospital Ship. He met our mom when he came to Camp Barkley.

Msgt. Chris Yarger retired from
military service and served in
Operation Desert Storm.

Sgt. Wyatt Stuteville is boarding a plane this weekend to come home from serving a 1 year tour in Afghanistan - He will receive 3 Purple hearts for his service. He has also spent 6 months in Iraq.

Major Joe Moschello is a BI Pilot and continues to serve to make our sky's safe.

On this Memorial Day I want to thank the Men in my life who have followed the call to serve their Country. They all fought in different Wars in very different times - but the bond of a soldier is still there. The lives of these Men were forever changed because of the wars they served in, the sacrifices made - something I can not even imagine. I am very proud to call them my family and very proud of their service to our great Nation.

Masterpieces and Miracles...

I have been thinking and sewing and with each stitch- praying for my grandchild growing inside Erica. I can't believe it yet that we are going to have a baby in our family very soon(September). I have been thinking alot about my grandmothers and my Mom and the kind of grandmothers they were - the BEST. I hope I can be just like them, patient, kind, loving, fun and such a spiritual example to their grandchildren. My Mom was such a wonderful grandmother (Gan- Gan) to her 8 grandchildren. I have some mighty big shoes to fill and it is a little scary to me. I know that the first time I see my grandchild I will be filled with love and forget all the fears of being a grandma.

One of my favorite singers of all time is Sandi Patti and this weekend I was listening to a old CD and heard this song again. I love it and shed a few tears over the words - it is amazing the miracle of birth and all the plans God has for that little one. God has been so good to Josh and Erica - to think 2 years ago Josh had testicular Cancer and was afraid that children might be a problem - no problem for God!

Say a little prayer my friends for our baby YA YA and the Mom and Dad to be .

In one week -summer officially starts with the passing of Memorial Day. Yeepee!!! I feel just like I did when school was out for myself and then for the Boys. I love Summer!! My greatest creations...

Of all the creating I have done- the greatest and most amazing to me is my two sons. There is nothing like being a Mom. Thank you Josh and Ben for being the greatest sons and thank you for loving your nutty Mom!

My niece Sarah gave me this darling minature brick with the word -Family on it. On the back was this definition - I love it!

a compatible collection of kindred souls. linked together for mutual benefit by bloodline or brotherhood, by choice or by chance, all characterized by their deliberate acts of love for one another, and by the recognition that life would be less in the absence of any member.

How perfect a discription of our Family - Thank you Sarah!!

Hope your Mothers Day was full of love and laughter...

Off she goes into the wild blue Yonder....

Even at a early age she was a glamor girl!

Yes sir I will marry you Major Joe! And Anna will be the maid of Honor?

This past weekend my oldest niece Sarah Beth got engaged. It was a wonderful surprise to her and it brought great happiness to her whole family. Sarah has always been a ray of sunshine and a breath of fresh air to us all. She makes us laugh and has entertained us her whole life. It has been such a privilege to watch her grow into the beautiful young women she is today. She has been very brave the last two years - watching her Major Joe go to a War zone twice. She has learned alot about the military wife she will become.

Congratulations Sarah Beth you got a Major catch!

Sunday Around the Table...

When Erica joined our family she brought to our table a wonderful dessert that has become a favorite of all of us. I hope you enjoy this like our family - it is especially good in the hot summertime.

Eclair Cake

1 Large box Vanilla Instant pudding
use the directions on the box to prepare
set aside in refrigerator to cool

1 Box Graham Crackers
1 Can Chocolate Icing
1 small container cool whip

Add to prepared vanilla pudding the container of cool whip stir well.
Lay graham crackers in bottom of 9x11 Pyrex dish then layer
1/2 of pudding / layer of graham crackers/ rest of pudding / graham
crackers. Spread Choc. Icing on top of graham crackers and Refrigerate.
The longer it is cooled the better.

This is one dessert that doesn't stay around long! You can also make this practically fat free and sugar free( according to what you buy) I make it that way and then its a worry free dessert!
