Can't tell a book by its cover....

I just had to tell you about 2 books that I have discovered while visiting friends homes. While I was at the Quiant old Homes meeting this month at Jo Carols -I fell in love with "The Psalms of David" and with the rest of the house too! My friend Kaye introduced me to "The Country Diary of an Edwardian lady" last year. I decided I would look on Amazon and make the purchase of these 2 books and I was so pleased that I got them for a song! What a deal for this book lover! I have loved pouring over them this week and reading them but mainly looking at the drawings on each page. I would love to be able to draw and write like this. I sit and wonder if these authors were kinda like the bloggers of today. Writing and creating a pretty page for others to share. Every single page is illustrated just like the ones pictured on this blog. All 200 pages of beauty!

For this nature lover and Christian These books are a treat to look through and read.....

"The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady" by Edith Holden

"The Psalms of David "by James S. Freemantle

What is so amazing to me is the fact that these books were written and illustrated in the early 1900s.Off to dream of writting and drawing like these authors......

It takes a long time to grow a old friend.....

I hope you all had a great Heart Day! I wanted to share some tablescapes that showed love to family and friends..My sister Brenda always has a big family dinner for her family and cooks an amazing meal to boot! Here is her pretty table she set for them this year.

I love the way she folded the napkins.....

My niece Sarah had a few girlfriends over to celebrate this year since most of

their husbands are overseas. She made it a special day for friends.....

I celebrated with a few of my dearest and oldest friends. I decided to show them just how special they are to me. I have know some of these women for 35+ years. They have been by my side on mountaintops and deep valleys. I wanted to treat them to a special lunch for always being there for me in my life....

I hope you all had a extra special day with the ones you love......

A Perfect Day....

This past Tuesday I had just about the perfect day. I woke up and the first thing I saw was this darling little boy smiling at me. What could be more perfect than that?

After I dropped Drew at School and made sure the ladies were good enough to keep my grandson everyday which I wholeheartedly agreed- It was a great place and I was so impressed. I was off to eat lunch at my favorite Southlake Restaurant. ......

Then I decided I better buy some treats for my favorite little friend at home that I had left for a week and a half. I was afraid she would not let me in the door and had forgotten me- no such thing she licked and licked me and then chowed down on her treats from a wonderful dog bakery in Southlake....

I had a fun day shopping at the Pottery Barn, Container Store ( love to organize)Anthropology and my favorite The Sample House. I have gone to that store for about 30? years when it was on Walnut Hill and Central in Dallas. I have always loved this store - it is like visiting a old friend. It was a gorgeous day about 65 degrees and sunny. A lot better than the 6 degrees I was in last week in Chicago! I soaked up the sun and then got to come home to my own sunshine - Drew. That smile will brighten any day and make it a perfect day....

Wishing you a perfect day......
