A Family affair….to remember

Amanda’s  wedding was the 5th of our Children to get married – I say “Our” children because it took a village or in our case a “ family” to raise them . There are 8 Brown cousins – and they are known in our town as

                           THE BROWN cousins.DSC05533

They have loved, supported and enjoyed each other their whole lives. They were all in attendance for Amanda and Boyd’s big day. Loading Hay, driving guest in golf carts, looking pretty and pulling  little ones in the wagon. They laugh at the weddings so far and what they have done to make them each so special. Driving 100 white painted trees to Dallas for Josh/Erica’s Wedding. Carving pumpkins, decorating tables and setting up a tent for Sarah/Joes. Decorating Christmas trees for Megan/Clarks- but you know –they would not be anywhere else doing anything! They will always be there for each other – they have a very special bond. What I love to see is how the 8 has now grown into THIS!

They are also known as the CRAZY 8 – they always have to have a funny picture to go along with the serious one!

And they added one more to the mix – THE BROWN NOSE side view.

DSC05541

Yes you see they have a bond – noses and all….

Not to be left out are the second generation cousins….

Drew,Callie and Jet were also in the wedding – Oh they did so good for their cousin Amanda!

They took the job very serious- checking it all out – Getting ready for the big entrance.

Aren’t Drew and Callie the sweetest things you ever saw and the two little friends of Amanda’s made for the cutest little attendants!

I loved this funny picture of the three little ones being mischievous during the picture taking. Its their own funny cousin picture – Jet had his foot on Drew’s head and Callie was trying to touch Jet – too funny!

They were the hit of the wedding – you just wanted to eat up their sweetness!

“Hey Grammy – I am ready to Dance!”

and dance and dance they did – the first on the dance floor right behind Danny and Amanda’s father/daughter dance.

They had all sorts of fun Party Plops to play with and dance with – Drew and Callie were still shaking their maraca's Sunday!      It was fun for old and young alike!

A+B = Guthrie

What a wonderful, perfect weekend it was for my niece Amanda to marry her prince of a man Boyd.

The weekend started with a little Fiesta!

Two families coming together and sharing stories, laughs and yes a few happy tears….

Its was the perfect way to start off the weekend – casual and lots of laughs…..

Saturday Morning came and not a cloud in the sky – I thanked our guardian angels and got to setting up for the friends and family brunch. Gathering all Amanda's girl friends and Family together to celebrate her big Day. Brenda and I  had such fun honoring our niece.

Amanda had such fun planning her wedding – she said she didn’t know she wanted a  wedding till she found pinterest and went to town planning the prettiest vintage-outdoor wedding I have ever seen. She is very creative – she got the gene- hehe. Let me show you the setting – so serene and lovely- set in the mesquite trees of West Texas at the famous Perini Ranch.

Easter comes…..

I have always loved Easter – almost as much as Christmas. I believe in Easter and the reason we celebrate it – I am living proof that Jesus died on the cross because he loved me – ME. I love the fact that Easter reminds us of our new life in Christ. My Lord brought new life to me-

This Easter God has given me such a literal picture of  new life. On Friday – Good Friday – I become the owner of the Bernina Sewing Center – it will be a good Friday ! And just like the Easter story of a new beginning it will be my new beginning. I did not know the dates of Easter this year when I scheduled the take over day with Bernina – but I believe God knew – he knew I liked signs – I like to be reminded that he watches over my every move! One morning last week I woke up at 3:00 – Did you know God always wakes me up at that hour? I guess cause nothing else has my attention. I started thinking about the new store and the old stores and all of a sudden – I remembered something pretty amazing! 30 years ago this month I opened Country  Pleasures Quilt Shop! How could that possibly be planned? I had not even thought of that! God sure likes to give me UH Huh moments! I wondered what all that was in the middle of my life but I guess it was the journey to this time of new beginnings. I am so overwhelmed at Gods love for me and the life he is building for me here on earth. This will definitely be a Easter season I remember all my life. This week God will be by my side scattering stars of hope, new life and new beginnings all around me and for that I serve a- RISEN SAVIOR!97531148150359622_aUwXbBxI_b
